HI USA opened its newest hostel, HI Richmond, in September of this year and it should be on every traveller's itinerary. HI Richmond is designed to help travellers interact and get to know each other. The first floor is a wide open space that includes the common room, reception area, shared kitchen and dining room. Large windows fill the whole room with warm, natural light. A covered veranda at the back of the hostel offers a dining table and cosy seating area for relaxing with new friends.

The hostel's 24-hour reception desk is staffed with friendly and knowledgeable Richmond locals who will help you explore this eclectic city from top to bottom. Not only is HI Richmond located right in downtown Richmond, the hostel is directly on U.S. Bike Route #1 and the East Coast Greenway. HI Richmond's charming, historic brick building underwent a complete renovation and features all the latest amenities, including free Wi-Fi, coffee, tea and breakfast. With a mix of 4- and 6-bed dorms with shared bathrooms along with both private and family rooms with en-suite bathrooms, there are rooms for all types of travellers. All rooms are spacious, with high ceilings that give that wow factor. Great care was also taken to infuse high standards of sustainability into the building’s construction and operations.
