An Óige officially launches Craic ‘n’ Crash - their new Adventure Events team.
The Craic ‘n’ Crash team have put together great alternative weekend breaks for young people with the emphasis on activities and the outdoors, not just the pub! In this way, it does exactly what it says in its name: you have the “craic” (Irish Gaelige for “fun”) meeting new people, getting out and active with some great activities and then you “crash” at one of the An Óige hostels set in 21 beautiful locations around Ireland.
With 2014 as Ireland’s Year of Adventure, it’s perfect timing to launch Craic ‘n’ Crash events which cover activities including abseiling, surfing, paint-balling, hiking, biking, kayaking … and much more. The activity breaks coming up over the next few months includes a Newgrange Adventure Weekend with white-water rafting, a Connemara Adventure Cycle trip for the June Bank Holiday with bike-cycling, kayak-floating, pier-diving, lake-swimming, rock-climbing and castle-touring and then a Connemara Hiking Adventure in the Twelve Bens.
They’re great value too! The team ensures the price stays within peoples’ budgets with prices ranging from €60 - €130 per person for a weekend break. This includes all your activities, all meals and usually at least 2 nights stay in an An Óige hostel.
To officially launch Craic ‘n’ Crash, An Óige has put together a video highlighting just some of the activities at one of its main 5 Star hostels.
