After many years of great friendship between LAJ (Les Auberges de Jeunesse), HFHS (Croatian Youth Hostel Association) and PZS (Hotelling International Slovenia), LAJ has visited Slovenia and Croatia.
In four days, they have visited youth hostels in Rijeka and Zagreb in Croatia and Postojna, Podcetrtek, Maribor and Ruse in Slovenia and also discovered some heritage trails in both countries.
Besides hostels we have visited “The old village” open air ethnographical museum in Kumrovec, the birth place of former Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito and historical center of Croatian capital Zagreb.
In Slovenia we have followed a trail of cultural and technical heritage and have visited traditional blacksmith, floating mill on Mura River, old pottery and pumpkin oil production.
Finally we have visited the oldest Vine in the world, recorded by Guinness book of records and met a director of Maribor tourism organisation Mr. Milan Razdevšek.
Such tours are a great opportunity for friendly associations for new friendships and promotion of the network of youth hostels as well.
