Celje is the third largest Slovenian city with excellent location and is a true historic gem in this part of Europe. The settlement of Early Iron Age evolved in Roman Celeia which was comparable to Troy, under the stars the mighty Dukes of Celje has received city rights and became the administrative center of the huge territory and one of the most important political centers of Europe. Today, Celje is dynamic city with rich cultural, sports, fair, culinary and commercial background and starting point for many picturesque attractions in the near and distant surroundings, among which stand out Celje Castle and Šmartinsko lake. Savinja hills and century-old city park with irresistible charm make sure that youth is equally playfull in all seasons. Visit Celje and feel the creative power of Celje stars.

Hostel Celje is located in the historical center of the town of Celje in the direct vicinity of the Central Train and Bus Station. It occupies a sprawling, more than century old building that was previously used as a tannery. The cultural heritage of the town of Celje is graphically depicted by the youth hostels eleven theme rooms.  In order to make our hostel just a little bit special, we’ve employed the help of young artists from Celje, who have outfitted individual rooms, based on the local myths and legends. Details of these rooms have been, in various ways, incorporated throughout the hostel, thus telling a story of unique history, odd characters and other fascinating things our city has to offer.

Hostel Celje offers a wide culinary selection in its vicinity, as well as numerous bars and clubs, where the party lasts till the early morning hours and to help you visit all of these places and explore our beautiful city with ease, you can rent-a-bike without charge. We also help to organize a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports or activities.      

1. CELJE CLIMBING EXPERIENCE

In Celje there are many climbing options, so we will choose the one that is suitable for you. You have to apply one day before and we have a minimum of 3 people policy. You get all the equipment, transportation and photo at the end.

2. CELJE PARAGLIDING EXPERIENCE

Experience the art of flying with experinced guides and become a bird man. You get all the equipment, just take some clothes for normal sport activity. Gliding depends on weather so contact the reception for further information.

We are going to see Celje from another point of view. We will start at 19.30 from the hostel and we take a walk to one of the most beautifull churches above Celje Sv. Miklavž, where you can enjoy in stunning views over Celje. We will try blueberry schnaps, which is a local delicacy and a must if you are in Slovenia. Then we will light the torches and head back, while discovering Herakleus sanctuary from Roman times on our way back, where you can feel the rich history of the city. We will be back around 22.00 and all you need is shoes and a jacket if it gets cold. More info on reception.

4. CELJE ZORBING EXPERIENCE

On Šmartinsko lake you can try zorbing on land or water. Surprise yourself and just keep spinning…More information at the reception.

5. PAINTBALL IN CELJE

Compete with your friends and find out what team work is on different courses.You get all the equipment, transportation and you can choose the amount of bullets, just have some clothes for normal sport activity.
